Before the first use, wash the Shankh thoroughly with warm water and then with raw milk and Gangajal. Keep the Shankh in your puja mandir, preferably on a copper or silver plate. To use, fill it with water and offer it to the deities during abhishekam. You may also blow the conch (if skilled) during aarti to mark the commencement of auspicious rituals. Always clean the interior after use to prevent residue buildup and maintain purity.
